A lively and exciting week-long celebration in honor of the 97th birthday of the late President Ferdinand Edralin Marcos—Apo Makoy for the Ilocanos—is set to take place on September 10-14, 2014.
The celebration will kick off with the Ferdinand Edralin Marcos (FEM) Debate Cup showcasing the speech and debate talents of young Ilocanos.

This was the general reaction of the audience to the fourth State of the Province Address (SOPA) delivered by Governor Imee Marcos’ on August 26, 2014.
More than 1,300 visitors including officials from all municipalities, Consul of the People’s Republic of China Zhiao Quiaoliang, department heads, stakeholders, leaders of various youth organizations attended the event at the Plaza Del Norte Convention Center.
In her bid to push for long-term transformation, Governor Imee R. Marcos launched a new vision, IN2020, which calls for Ilocanos “to create a future at home” and make Ilocos Norte the “best little province in the country” by the year 2020.
Held at the Plaza del Norte Hotel and Convention Center last August 26, 2014, the fifty-minute speech thoroughly explained the achievements of the province for the entire year as well as all the upcoming projects of her administration.
Gov. Imee went on a routine inspection of flood prone areas in Ilocos Norte after heavy rainfall on August 7, 2014. She immediately dispatched the provincial back hoe to Barangay Salbang and Nalasin in Paoay to clear the river of debris.
