"Let us all work together" – Governor Marcos on disaster mgt

Jun 08, 2018 ...

In light of Tropical Storm "Domeng" (International Name: Maliksi), Ilocos Norte Governor Imee R. Marcos reminds the local community, especially farmers, and resiliency councils that disaster management ought to be a year-round task.

TS Domeng, initially projected to hit the general North Luzon area, is now moving in a northeastward direction. The storm is projected to be 770km east of Basco, Batanes, by tomorrow morning, June 9.

While Ilocos Norte has been experiencing intermittent rains, regions that should anticipate heavy rains are Region III, Bicol, Calabarzon, Mimaropa, and Western Visayas.

The most recent storm for Ilocos Norte was the 2016 Super Typhoon Lawin (International Name: Haima), which had left behind over P2 billion in agricultural and infrastructural damages.

In the event of another severe storm in the future, Governor Marcos assures that "tutulong kami nang todo, but the government cannot do everything for you. Let us all work together."
